Where will my site be hosted?

Unless a client has other arrangements or preferences, we host all sites we produce out of one of our preferred site-hosting providers – MediaTemple or MediaTemple. Or, you may use another host of your preference. It is important that the server is a LAMP server (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP). If you ask your host whether they provide "LAMP" servers, they'll understand that question.

We do not do .asp sites, and do not work with most Microsoft-based servers. Current statistics indicate that LAMP servers host more websites than Microsoft ones. LAMP servers provide the most secure, stable and fastest hosting platform in the web hosting business. Also, using a LAMP server means that you have the greatest number of trained web professionals available to help you.

If you're hosting your site elsewhere, it is imperative that we receive information about this host early in the process to avoid last-minute problems when it’s time to go live.
